Six pedestals were created for all the floor lamps and table lamps in a gallery/residence in Echo Park, Los Angeles. The lamps served as the only light source in this unconventional art viewing space. The distinction between objects that artists make to showcases their art (or other's art) and the art object itself is brought into question. In this case the pedestals become art objects in their own right, referencing the minimalist cube while still maintaining their original use of upholding other objects, in this case mundane household objects.
